This website was created as a research project for the Physics 211 class at the University of Alaska Fairbanks
Home: Overview
In this project, I focused my research on the three main topics shown below.
Start with "Physics of a Slapshot" and it will guide you through the rest of the topics and my sources. Thanks
Home: Research

Hockey Sticks
Every sport has its signature move. In baseball, it's the grand slam home run. In basketball, the slam dunk. In hockey, its the Slapshot
Hockey Skates
In this section, we will explore the engineering behind hockey skate design, and the physics behind the critical hockey stop

Flying Saucers
Unlike the slap shot, which is built for power; the wrist shot is meant to be accurate. A reason that the wrist shot is so accurate is that of the gyroscopic effect that the puck has as it flies through the air.
